World Origami Day was established by Japan in 1980. The four "1"s in this date represent the 4 sides of a square paper. Every year, World Origami Day is celebrated worldwide by origami fans through gathering, folding, exhibiting and sharing. It is a day that the world is being united through the art of folding.
11 Nov 2019 marks the first time in the history of Malaysia that Japan Cultural Envoy in Origami, Prof. Dr. Jun Mitani, visits Malaysia and celebrates this meaningful day together. It is an important milestone in Japan-Malaysia Cultural & Knowledge Exchange. Join us at Publika Shopping Gallery, Level G3 Black Bridge to witness and be a part of this historical moment.
This event is supported by Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur, Hosted by UEM Sunrise. Organized by Malaysia Origami Academy.
